After his parachute opened, he pieced together a special Air Force portable surfboard from his backpack, rearranged his parachute, and kitesurfed 10 miles along the coast. He thought the jump might be too dull and boring by itself, so he decided to add a little variety.

Baumgartner also jumped from the stratosphere 3 times, also died, and Kittingers hand turned back to normal after a while. Both equally as epic.

this guy was much more badass than felix baumgartner, he jmped from the stratoshere 3 times, he almost died once and he premantaly damaged his hand during his last jump. and he did that at least 50 years ago!
