  • lady Mo..

what do you do to shine up the works?

    or buff them?

  • When your painting is dry you just use a soft lint free cloth and polish gently. Don't rub too hard as this may scratch the surface. Occasionly you may want to polish paintings that you have on the wall to restore the shine.

  • I'm watching your videos again as well, Mo, and I was wondering if you've ever used wax crayons...like what kids use for coloring books...or colored wax candles? Your pieces are so scrumptious! You little rebel, you!!! Just missed you on Gary's ning chat room today..hope to meet you there sometime soon.

  • I havent used wax crayons but I do use oil pastel and watercolour crayons on top of the wax to create line work. It does interesting stuff when you heat it again. I did use wax candles when I first began, they were fragrant too. That painting is on my red bubble called 'out of the depths'. My daughter has that one. It still seems okay it hasn't come off the canvas. thanks for watching donna. see you in the ning nang nong.

  • you satelite pieces are gorgeous! They have so much depth and look so lush. Love the vids.

    More! More! lol

    Hugs

  • thanks missdoobs glad you like the work and the vids. I am pretty busy organising a wedding for my little girl at the moment but will do more vids when that is over.

  • great stuff Mo....love watching these..my third or fourth time now i think? lol See you in the group! debsx

  • Exciting work Mo, and fun to watch! : P

I can't wait for my encaustic stuff to be delivered! I just know this is the medium I've always needed.

Thanks for letting me know about the beeswax for future reference, I suppose it doesn't really matter that's it's yellow, although I would have thought this would have greened your blues and oranged your reds, but you demonstrate that this isn't so. I suppose because you just add a greater amount of colour to counteract the yellow?

  • Awesome awesome! I've been looking at books and of videos on encaustic but have been stalling because they make it look so controlled and precise. Watching your videos reminds me that it's good to be free and experiment! No more stalling! Thanks Mo!

  • Great videos Mo, thank you so much for sharing them!

  • Thanks, Mo. ning nang nong...you crack me up!
