This PSA, created by Haneen Odeh & Maisa Mustafa from the King Abduallah II Fund for Development in Amman, Jordan, uses the metaphor of a ladder to symbolize the university student's climb to success in the job market. The objective of the PSA is to encourage youth nationally in Jordan to seek out the resources and staff at their university career counselor's office. The PSA shows a young person from the knees down approaching a ladder and starting to climb. Between each step, messages entice the audience to "Find A Guidance Counselor", "Prepare For Your Interview", "Join the Internship Program", and "Step into Your Career with Confidence". The logo of the King Abdullah II Fund appears with the message "Visit the career counseling office at your University." URL: www.kafd.jo

Background:
This PSA was produced locally in Amman, Jordan as part of a media workshop, entitled "Media, Activism and Democracy," led by Barefoot Workshops in partnership with The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). twenty-six participants, mostly women and youth, learned how to write, shoot, produce and edit, thirty-second noncommercial videos (Public Service Announcements), to raise awareness about social issues. The goal of the workshops was to increase discussion, debate and civic participation in the Middle East. The PSAs are available in Arabic and English to broadcasters and other organizations that wish to distribute them "rights-free" on television and the Internet.
