The Hostages were taken by the Hezbollah. The Iranians who got sold the weapons leaned on the Hezbollah and gave them a cut of the weapons. Most of the weapons were used in the Iraq Iran war. Are you talking about the Iranians who paid the Israelis for delivering the U.S. Weapons? Or the Hezbollah who took the hostages that prompted the weapons deal.

This whole episode was a black moment in U.S. History. Even more shameful was Bush pardoning them when he was president.
