The whole film lies very close to my heart... I still cannot forget the day when it was released amidst great fanfare and cracker bursting on the Diwali day, year 1991... As a kid, what more can you ask for on a diwali ?? more sweets, more crackers and superstar film release !!! Glued in front of the TV for Rakkamma, Yamunai aatrile, and this song day in and out - those beautiful days are long gone .... Phew !!!! :(:(:(
I should say this film captured my imagination at the very first sight.... and lives with me .... and will live for many years to come... For me its more of a musical than a film (though many die-hard Rajini fans might disagree).... and the last of the Big duo - Manirathnam and Ilayaraja...
Coming to this particular song.... It s PURE MAGIC !!!!!!! Be it the lyrics, the song composition (particularly the orchesteration) and of course Rajini-Shobana chemistry :D takes away your heart !!!! due to some reason this sequence preceeding the song is glued in my memory... and hence i have included it here....
Pairing up for this song with another wanna-pro, Meenakkshi Shanker. ....
Die-hard fans of this song - please bear with our inadequacies (remember that we are not the immortal SPB/S.Janaki... and we have the RIGHT to do mistakes :D)... Thanks a lot meena for your patience and cooperation !!!
