  • well you'd expect it to be better since it has a 291 hp engine and a GLI and GTI both have 200 hp 2.0 T engines. I've managed to chip my 09 GLI to get 250 hp but it is a whole different car. especially many people decide to soup up their Evo's. i respect the evo, tho theres nothing to compare here. totally different class of cars.

  • they did.

but in 2008 porsche bought out 51% of vw's shares. porsche still owes vw $198million.

honestly i still think vw owns porsche

That will be nice. I wanted almost the exact same setup for my 1.8T. I do like how nice the VW's are to drive on an every day basis and how pleasing the interiors have been for each model. There are many things I like about VW which is why I still have one. Get integrated engineering rods. They're going to be the best bang for the buck and will be more than strong enough for the application you want. 550 whp rated but people have ran these in the 700's w\ out any problems.

  • @GraphicFrost yea the 4g63 is a better engine out of the box. my friend has a 93 octane tune with a fuel pump putting down 350. if I put down 350 on my 1.8t id be pushing it. I really wana drop rods in my 1.8t and get a 3071r so i could hang/beat his evo but I like my VW even if its slower ill get something fast another time.

  • Ahh, he even tried to dodge it so it wouldnt hit your car. Wrong place wrong time. I bet he felt like :c

  • @chillaxer1993 im pretty sure that was a mk4 so its a 1.8t

  • @macgolfracer

I rape ST 1.8T's all day. Intake, Exhaust, Recirculating valve on my Evo 8 and I'm at 3 to the wheels. Not even a fuel pump. I'm conservative now. That's not even with MIVEC or the IX turbo. Soon I'll have my GSC2 and behives I'm looking at power where 1.8T's that see any kinda knock break the block son lol. Just messin but seriously. I have mass luv for VW. I still own one <3 I do love the 1.8T 20v FTW! But the 4G63 is better.

  • @ridin4life100

    So MK5, MK4, and MK3 ;)

  • @honuts

Yes sir. If that GT35R was tuned LOL it would walk that 1.8T GT28. Easily. I've owned a lot of vw and still own a 79 MK1 16v PL Scirocco Storm. I've owned a Stage V Corrado and a full bolt-on Stage III 1.8T. I now own an Evo VIII. Not even comparable. The 4G63 is the shit!!!

  • @res07awr i agree it was founded by the Nazi trade union, but Ferdinand Porsche easily did the most work from day 1, sure Hitler and Komenda were involved but none are more deserving of the credit than Porsche.

  • @mikethebeast1012 Actually, you sir, are the idiot.

Volkswagen was originally founded in 1937 by the Nazi trade union, the German Labor Front. Ferdinand Porsche was just the first engineer chosen, and worked alongside Erwin Komenda of Auto Union (Audi), to make their first model, The VW 82E aka "The First Bug"

And the Contract for those cars was issued by Hitler.
