The Pig Picture highlights never-before-seen-HFA investigative footage. This powerful 18-minute video traces the development of commercial pig rearing in America - from the small-scale family farms of yesterday - to the corporate owned pig factories of today.

  • I am a meat eater and an animal lover. Thankyou for putting this out here. The LEAST we can do being self aware of our actions is giving any animal that is gonna provide it's life for us for nourishment is respect till the very end.

  • our family has been getting more and more locally raised meat (chicken, beef) from small farms who practice kindness and natural raising of animals. we do not buy pork or veal. local, organic farms with dedicated policies for raising animals is the only way to be a conscious meat eater. it brings revenue to your own area and out of the pockets of factory farms which are a disgrace to this country and Mother Earth.

  • @julieoneillphoto Well said julie!!. Its totally pathetic how these meat eaters think that slaughter is humane. Even if a pig was treated with the utmost care and love all its life, slaughter isn't humane. The only thing that is humane is allowing the pigs to LIVE their lives and minding our own damn business. There is no "humane" way to "kill". These two words are miles apart from each other.

  • @wuuggfi

There is no such thing as "humane slaughter"! That phrase always gets me. Call it like it is, murder! When someone is killed against their will (I am sure that the pigs from your friendly farmer are not saying "oh yes me next! please slit my throat and end my life") is murder. How can taking ANYONE'S life ever be though of as "humane"?

  • I want to thank all the factory farms in the USA and around the globe for helping make my decision, if it wasnt for the activist to capture yalls dirty deeds I would still be a carnivore.....Who wants some TOFU....LOL!

  • The FDA is finally moving to end antibiotic use in animals since super pathogens are a very real problem now. All this disgusting factory crap will have to change since antibiotics prop up this deplorable sham. Who dreamt this stuff up in the first place and what were they thinking? Absolutely maddening!

  • you probably know my opinions from the comments on other videos, but this was an exceptionally good bit of unbiased, reasonable work. i was ready to pick at any hole or bias you put in there, but you even got the anti-biotic resistance and learned helplessness correct. as I say, still eating meat, still pro animal testing where necessary, but I'd certainly sign up to banning the insanely basic commercial methods. i'd have a lot more time for PETA etc if they could produce this level of quality

  • You are so right! And I also avoid factory-farmed meat and only eat free-range organic.

Because people need to think about it this way- isn't it better for an animal to have lived a happy life and then have been killed quickly and painlessly than to not have lived at all?

Sure, veganism is better than eating industrial meat, but eating free-range, sustainably farmed organic meat is better than veganism.

  • Yeah, fuck off, you cruel asshole.

  • my last comment was for HollyGortega1

  • exactly. im a vegetarian myself, but we are born omnivores. meat is a part of our diet. supporting HFA doesnt mean you have to be vegan or not eat meat. it means you support humane farming. good for you, eating free range meats. i say you are better than any vegan i ever met. vegans can be just as close minded as meat eaters sometimes.

  • As a Muslim woman I can tell you Kosher is about the ONLY way too eat when in doubt. When there is know "halal" (Lawful, pure food) food we eat Kosher and let me tell you Hebrew National beef hot dogs are great!
