This is the original award winning sequence from 'When the Pipers Play' and used for the credits. Produced by Highland Classics it features Scotland's great traditional singer, Isla St Clair, with the Massed Pipers of all The Scottish Regiments.

The film 'When the Pipers Play' combines inspiring songs with stunning footage, bringing to the screen a unique insight into one of the world's most popular instruments. The film features Phil Collins, Capercaillie and the worlds top pipers. The song's lyrics are by the film's writer, producer, director Patrick King with music by Ian Lynn and Terry Trower.   • Isla St Clair was given her own series by the BBC called 'The Song and The Story'. The award winning series featured the stories behind tradional folk songs. There are some photos from the series on Isla's website.

  • @BlakeVII The songs a famous folk tune. Its called SOVAY. Its actually about a female highway woman, who holds up her lover! The song is available on I tunes. Islas version , sung in 'The Song & The Story' is a fantastic version.The one available by her, is a re recorded version.Thanks for the reply! :)

  • @BlakeVII I remember. Ive been looking for it on You Tube. Im not sure if its actually part of a poem. LOREENA McKENNITT sings a song with the same title. I remember Isla singing the song you are talking about.It was in a kids tv show as I remember.I must have been about 13/14. Im now 43 & it has always stuck in my head!
