INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Mourners from across the state and even as far away as Florida traveled on Monday to say goodbye to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer David Moore.
Visitation for Moore began at 2 p.m. Monday at Crown Hill Cemetery. A steady stream of people waited in line and stopped by the open casket. IMPD brought in buses to keep people warm while they waited to get inside.
Guard presented an American flag to Moore's parents during the visitation. The late officer was also presented with various awards, including a purple heart and IMPD's highest honor, a medal of honor.
Visitation continues until 8 p.m. Monday. Moore's funeral on Tuesday was moved up to 10 a.m. in anticipation of inclement weather.
Moore was gunned down during a traffic stop.
