This tutorial shows an example of how to reset your module if your usb or adapter board has no reset button.
If X-CTU asks for a reset, you cannot unplug your device. I found out that this is a working (and fast) solution on how to do this.
Connect pin 5 (reset) to pin 10 (ground)
