  • James was the first artist to be signed to The Beatles "Apple Records" label in 1969. But of course if you are enough of an anorak to be searching these versions out like me then you would know that. Saw James at the Arena in Newcastle England a few years ago and his voice is better live than on record. He was wonderful, the rich baritone voice and virtuoso guitar playing is better than ever and his newer songs are really brilliant as well!!

  • @steveevh1 Yes, I know...I am glad you enjoyed it!

  • Sorry the audio quality is a little rough...ill try to put up a better one this week...

  • @mclarkuncg We're still waiting!

  • @Uetti Sorry friend, Ive been busy lately but loaded a better audio version.

  • This version is one of my favorites. I first heard it on the radio in 1969. It is upbeat and happy. I loved this version than his later variations of that song. I'm from North Carolina so it feels more like home.

  • @Soulthinker2007 It must be a lovely place for James to write a wonderful song like this about your home. Take care XXX

  • @steveconn this version is better than the remake he did in 1976

  • The backing vocals ruin the song.

  • Wow..I've never heard this version until now. I like the orchestrated/strings part. Thanks for posting this.

  • Backing vocals include those from P. McCartney, P. Asher and G. Harrison. McCartney plays bass.

  • @capitolemiproducer an uncredited george harrison is on backing as well
