When did he say that? He ALWAYS remembered his Blues roots!!! He lamented that no one played the blues anymore except B.B. King and Bobby "Blue" Bland.

Mr. Brown always said he never really liked the blues. He evenm said that in his autobiography (the first one I believe.

One of Mr. Brown's greatest recordings.
He never really liked the blues, from what he had said, but when he did a blues number it was like he was born to sing the blues!
