Robin Friday is a football legend.
When I was living in Reading and going to see them play I heard many stories told about him.
There was a book wrote about him by Paul McGuigan (ex-Oasis) and Paulo Hewitt.
Somebody should make a film.
- This is recollections from his time at Reading and Richard Wickson talks about Reading's promotion in the 70's and about Friday's antics on the pitch.

I saw Robin play for Cardiff City. He was SO talented but as with most geniuses he had a dark side which led to his untimely death. But a great player no doubt.

@MrStrawhatlegend He was from the materials for sure. Those who were there-and many who weren't-still refer to the 'Tranmere goal'. Re lack of footage, Southern TV DEFINEATELY had cameras at the 1976 came v Crewe where Friday scored and probably have more archieve film providing it wasn't lost stolen or destroyed when Meridian or whoever took over the franchise. Might be worth nudging them to see if they'll put it on you tube so a few more can see the great man.
