Tal Wilkenfeld - Oatmeal Bandage (Played by Chris Anderson)

This is one of my favorite tunes from Tal's debut CD - She recorded this when she was only 20, and had been playing bass for THREE YEARS!!! (i'd been playing for just under two years when i recorded this video)

The drummer on this CD is the great Keith Carlock, one of my main inspirations behind playing :)
I work all the time on trying to keep that really upbeat swung feel for the song's main 4/4 hook, which helps it transition a bit easier into the latin 6/8 feel later in the song. All of what i'm playing is improvised...i know the song, and what parts i want to accent, but it's VERY difficult to groove in that Carlock style between snare and bass!!

Dude, that was an awesome job. You had the feel, and the pocket down perfectly. Enjoyed it all the way through. Although, it angers me to see that 10 people didn't like this video. Can you say Crackhead?
