news flash: 17,000 isnt a large number of people on such a big topic... i wonder how many people would say it is real. this guy and his whole generation shit me with their fear of change. our world will improve a lot when they die off...
the seasonal warmings have never been this early and we're already over all of the identical previous temperatures and carbon persence and climbing,
this raving old man is talking out of his ass definately, every one of his apparent facts can be countered by logic. he backs it up with talk of a petition that 17,000 joined to say that they dont believe its real (aka are uninformed and dont want to risk losing any money),
LOL. The Oregon Institute Petition was a notorious scam showing the denier's dishonesty. It was a push-pull mass mailing without integrity checks, that deceptively impersonated a National Academies of Science mailing. It was so deceptive that the NAS took the unusual step of an official statement saying it had nothing to due with the OIP. Among the "finest minds in climatology and the sciences" that signed it were Michael J. Fox, Robert C. Byrd, John C. Grisham, and one of the Spice Girls.
This guy is just talking out his ass - he has no clue WTF he's talking about. I paid attention - EVERY factual assertion he made was wrong, with the sole exception that warming trends come and go (LOL - "without damaging the Earth" - as of that were the issue - it's about damaging US). And that's of course a completely irrelevant to the scientific consensus that humans are driving the recent global warming that threatens OUR well being.
Whereas, you don't believe the world is going to explode on the authority of any knowledge you have. You believe it on the authority of *someone* that the media has told you is a scientific expert. Fine. You want to believe the government-paid scientists they put on TV? You do that. I'll believe the non-government paid scientists who have to go to the internet or Fox to be heard. Btw, the ice cores say that CO2 concentration follows temperature, not the other way around.
It's called listening to scientific authorities. Please. You wouldn't know crap if you "thought for yourself." How do you know smoking causes cancer? Scientific authorities. How do you know next week's weather? Scientific authorities. Who tracks the trends, analyze the ice cores, and test models? Scientific authorities (ie not you). What knowledge you have is negligible compared to that of our scientists. You don't even know the difference between weather and climate. Get yourself a textbook.
Can you find any "reputable" scientific agency that isn't funded by grant money that has a THE-WORLD-WILL-EXPLODE-IN-100-YEARS stance? No? That's what I thought. Think for yourself. You're listening to people telling you what the weather will be like in 100-200 years, when they can't even tell you whether or not it will rain tomorrow. That's called being a sheep, bud.
I don't believe in god and I have 4 signatures.
sorry god, I don't believe in global warming ether.
