Scenes on an aircraft that had just landed from the USA in Shanghai Pudong Airport in China, on May 10, 2009. Everyone was required to remain in their seats until all had been checked with a laser for high body temperature. Quarantine would have been required by someone with a fever, as well as up to 3 surrounding rows of passengers.

  • Only the Immigration department in China can tell you what will happen. However, based on my experience seen in the video, and what I read in the papers there, only passengers in rows near a person with a fever are subject to quarantine. For example, if someone in the second level of a 747 had a fever, it's not likely that Economy passengers in the rear of the aircraft were exposed. The two cabin areas are well separated.
