lots of time...and you can lose everything if you put everything into the ship you are flying... I stopped playing because of the amount of time it takes...

So say I wanted to give this game a shot. What is the time requirement? I know that World of Warcraft is pretty heavy on time, never got very far with it. I'm in college and trying to be a game designer as well. but the idea of piloting ships across the universe sounds awesome. I could use some help getting started....Anyone lend a hand?

I wish I wasn't such a cheapskate, and would be willing to sacrifice my entire life to play this game. I tried the demo, but didn't want to keep playing the monthly fee, or lose my life. It's so damn tempting after watching this, though. :(

My trial acc for EVE online ran out a couple of days ago, but I want to upgrade it to a "regular" acc, and so I looked at payment options and I coudn't find can u pay an acc whitout any kind of cards?

You can use prepaid Game Time Cards to credit your account with x months play time and thus not use a credit card. However that still leaves you with the problem of getting a GTC in the first place. The most typical source are on line retailers (e.g. shatteredcrystal), but they're going to want a cc/paypal account to pay for the GTC. Im afraid I dont know if you might be able to find them a regular shop.

For those that are curious the vid is in game foot captured using fraps. It was edited using Windows Movie Maker, which really doesnt like handling multiple +1gb files. Sound was mixed using Audacity. If you want to achieve similar sweeping panning shots, try enabling the advanced cammera menu and playing about with its functions.
While not perfect, Im still pleased with the results.
