It was approximately 2.45 pm on Saturday 6 March 2010 (earlier today), and I was in the passenger seat of my car with my 4-month old baby parked in the Wesley College Prahran car park in front of the school oval, while my wife, who is a bridesmaid, was having photos taken with the bridal party - the groom went to that school. I was playing with my daughter in the car, when it started to rain. Then it started to hail. As I had my digital camera, a Lumix DMC-TZ5, I decided to film the hail. And then the hail got progressively worse, and it started to pelt down. I managed to take 10 minutes of footage, basically the whole time of the hailstorm, but am uploading a 5 minute excerpt, of when the hail started to get bad. I had to put the camera down for a couple of minutes as the hail became so loud that I had to cover my baby's ears as I was worried it was too loud. It's now 10 pm, and we've returned from the wedding - I've yet to make a detailed examination of the car to see if there are any dents. But I won't be surprised! Anyway, thought I would share this - not everyday one is stuck in a car in the middle of a hailstorm.
in a Storm... ALWAYS try and sit in the back of the car, if you are stranded especially with a Baby, in the back there is more protection if the hails suddenly start smashing windows.

I laughed to see the baby lying there, completely unconcerned. He/she probably thought the sound of the hail hitting the car was calming.
