Dilnar Abdulla was also the golden cup winner of a competition with her this dance Dap usuli.

Dap is one of ancient Uyghur musical instrument. It's a very important instrument in Uyghur orchestras. Some classic dance music are performed with Dap alone.

Sun worship was practiced by ancient Uyghurs. The tombs of Kroran(Kroraina, tarim basin mummies)are in the shape of a big shining sun(they could be dated back to 4000 years ago). There are other relics that found from those ancient Uyghur cities depict the sun as a deity.

Sun Worship, religious devotion paid to the sun either as a deity or as the symbol of a deity. Sun worship was practiced by the Iroquois, Plains, and Tsimshian peoples of North America and reached a high state of development among the Native Americans of Mexico and Peru. The sun was also a Hindu deity, regarded as maleficent by the Dravidians of southern India and as benevolent by the Munda of the central parts. The Babylonians were sun worshipers, and in ancient Persia worship of the sun was an integral part of the elaborate cult of Mithras. The ancient Egyptians worshiped the sun god Ra.
It appears in several early cultures, notably in ancient Egypt, Indo-Europe, and Mesoamerica, where urban civilizations were combined with a strong ideology of sacred kingship, in which kings ruled by the power of the sun and claimed descent from it. The imagery of the sun as the ruler of both the upper and the lower world, which he visits daily, was prominent. Sun heroes and deities also figure in many mythologies, including Indo-Iranian, Greco-Roman, and Scandinavian. In late Roman history, sun worship was of such importance that it was later called "solar monotheism."

  • Ancient Uyghurs practiced Shamanism, Buddhism, Manicheism, Nestorian Christianity....Islam was introduced to Uyghurs in 9th century.

  • So what is the point of your comment..that Uyghurs are not muslims..hahahha

  • sorry, please read the description of the video.

  • I hope you won`t say that Uyghurs are worshipping the Sun. Yet it is a common practice among the rural societies to worship the sun or calf (cow, like the ancient Jews & Egyptians), because these are related to production methods, just like today people worship oil and silicon..Well, you forgot one thing though, Japanese, who are Turanian also, have what flag, remember?

  • That doesn't mean that now we are worshipping the Sun, but our ancestors did worship so there still have impacts.

  • LOvely, video. The Uigher people are an attractive group. Especially as it seems in their looks they have a generally balanced look between the East and West.

I also like how the girls have the long hair in many braids. I think alot of Asian girls (I'm Asian)should wear their hair that way, its beautiful!

  • Because of the nature of your arguments and the very fact that you found it necessary to argue with Duldul's on point message. People of Eastern Turkistan may be Muslims, but, contrarily to the isolated Arabs, they already had a high culture and knowledge before accepting Islam. Elements of their pre-Islamic era remain most relevant for the Uyghurs, for if they loose this, they loose their originality, their dignity, their soul.
