@bennydumi: it is legal and it is so far the most efficient way of estimating fish population parameters since it is possible to catch more fish per unit of time, so it used only for scientific purposes.

@Karyn64: It is not sport or cheating, it is meant to invest less time in catching the fish and more in studying it (measuring, weighing, blood sample...)
