I felt a tickle in my throat and when I coughed, this guy came out. Shown here at 60x magnification, next to the tip of a pin.

Thanks to the folks over at http://bugguide.net, this has been identified as a mesostigmatid mite. Comments about this specimen can be viewed at http://bugguide.net/node/view/483569.

  • It is a tick. My son had one like this on his head.

  • @mfromcanada1 I found out that it is a mesostigmatid mite.

  • I tried posting a response vid, but it's not here.. so I tried it again, and the option isn't available anymore,

The video is called: ~ SPIDER MITES - DEAD ~

maybe you have to ok it before it will post. don't know.

  • @4eyes2sea Please try to post your video again. I don't see it anywhere for me to approve or whatever.

I think this is a tiny tick of some kind. But how on earth could it have come out of my throat? I live in southern California and have not been out in the woods or anything. I have never once seen a tick in this part of the world, though I have seen some up in the mountains up north.

  • Ahhh!! This is an awesome video!!! I have been looking at the (bug) we associate with (morgellons), the (pine beetle) and plants that die... they have this bug too... I'll attach a video of the bug that growers call (spider mite). I think it's the same bug. See what you think. Thanks for this post.. it's an incredible piece to my part in the puzzle. LoveCare ~*~

  • @4eyes2sea Thank you and please try to post your video again!

  • It's a bed bug...

  • @4eyes2sea that makes good sense to me..the BC stuff, OK..ancient home remedy that works ( that idea would make for a very interesting youtube channel about all the old traditional historical health information )

  • @clnmyjts - not sure they could ever outlaw the old folk remedies.. but if something simple, and free... that doesn't feed the pharma system.. (they) try to give it a bad rap somehow.. it gets no credit, of coarse.. and truly, I've found those to work the best... the older, the better.. I'm talking way BC.. so, yeah.. pee in your bath... drinking through the skin is the BOMB!

  • @4eyes2sea drinking threw the skin? very good point to make! these things litually go underground.."Under the skin" into the hair folicle root system area..( anyway yep I know the good old moms remedies really did work ) that was in the days of real remedies before we had the big pharmaseutical conmen corperation..

  • @clnmyjts - I believe that apple cider vinegar works nearly as well as urine.. to drink.. but I'm not sure about drinking it through the skin.. kinda stinky, but I bet you're right.. it's about an alkaline environment vs. acidic.. It thrives on acidic environment, and I think the apple cider vinegar leans towards alkaline. You can add a fresh squeezed lemon and some honey.. even a little cayenne pepper if ya want a real bomb ;) It's an old folk remedy that my Mom has used for years.

  • @4eyes2sea OK...the urine! that makes sense. could a apple sider vinegar work just as well?
