Kingda Ka is the tallest roller coaster in the world and the fastest in North America. While filming a special about the park, our crew experienced and captured a rollback.

The conditions were just right and we were awesomely the first film crew to capture this. Early morning and windy conditions are best.

Chill! You just wrote an entire novel complaining about the fact I used the word "the" in front of Kingda Ka. It may not be on any official merchandise but believe it or not that word is actually implied sometimes in the English language. As a matter of fact, you could technically use that word before "El Toro" because it's a proper noun (which means it's referencing a specific roller coaster) and not an actual bull. Besides, you referring to it as "Ka" is considerably more annoying anyway.

You're Joseph Paul, not The Joseph Paul. Cedar Point is not The Cedar Point. Millennium Force is not The Millennium Force. The Dark Knight Coaster (which is exactly what the sign over the entrance says) is not The The Dark Knight Coaster. Reporters covering media days aren't typically well-versed about coasters, and their press kits from the park almost certainly don't add unnecessary articles.

Most amusement parks have something called media day. I was at Cedar Point last week and actually talked to some of these roller coaster reviewers and it wasn't unusual for them to refer to "Millennium Force" as the Millennium Force. You discredit anyone and act as if they have no idea what they're talking about the moment "the" comes out of their mouth. Again, grammar doesn't make exceptions for roller coasters. That word can be used in front of proper nouns. Do you know what a proper noun is?

I worked at Great Adventure one year and never, ever heard any employee add "the" to the name of a coaster. I'm also a coaster enthusiast and have never heard another coaster enthusiast do it. Therefore my conclusion is that the only people who add "the" to the names of coasters are those who don't know much about them. The only reason I was calling it Ka was to avoid the comment length limit.

Don't call it "the kingda ka". It's just Kingda Ka, there's no "the" on any of the ride signage or merchandise. To use another coaster as an example, if you call El Toro "the el toro" you're literally saying "the the bull". And After riding Ka and TTD many times, I can say that they almost even out, for example TTD's better restraints are balanced out by Ka's second hill. The one thing that makes TTD better is the lack of trim brakes on top of the tower that Ka has, they make the back row suck.

Same ride as top thrill dragster at cedar point with a drop that's 18 feet taller. I think TTD is actually a scarier ride because the only thing it has is a lap bar compared to over the shoulder harnesses on the kingda ka.
