Pointing is a simple job and crucial because it makes the wall water tight and protected from the elements. So if you've got half an hour to spare, here's how it';s done.

  • im sry but u never point face work with a hose!! always use a jointing iron : use marshalltown get a nice smooth finish not rough as a hose. you can use a hose on blockwork but not face blockwork.. if he did that on my job they would laugh him off and would get sacked within an hour an we have 20 bricklayers on our site maybe more>>

  • For a top job a rubber hose is the best jointing tool ,You dont get steel banding in the joints ,but for speed steel is the best for most colleges but not at the best bricklaying colleges.If they did that on my job i wouldnt laugh them of my site i wouldnt say nothing but if i saw banding off steel jointers i tell them to rake it out and do it again?
