That's why the only way we can be free, Is to suppress and limit government to what the founding fathers original intended. it is really the people who create society, not politicians. They just wrap around it, Power of the government must ALWAYS be fragmented, They must always have a limited spending as well with monetary policy in place.

The constitution should never be interpreted and that isn't what ron paul does. He read the constitution for what it says. And it says what it says.

@tehatemachine I don't get what you're trying to say. I said that it was an individual right. What I quoted wasn't "crooked POS liberal" anything; it was from mostly Constitutionalist and Conservative standpoints.

Anyone who tells you that it's saying that only a militia can bear arms. Tell them this and this is quote right off of what it says "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

@lucius1976 The Bill of Rights was written on an individual level. Look at all of the first 10 ammendments. They apply to individual rights. The well regulated militia part was more than likely a fore front added to emphasize the purpose of the 2nd amendment; which is to secure freedom.

At least that's how myself and most Constitutional scholars read it.

Actually second amendment is not clear. it talks about "A well regulated Militia". Who qualifys as such? Can anyone just say "I am a one person well regulated milita, so i can own guns".
