@cup950003. To: Cup950003. Why am I a fag? Because I made my comment in bullet form? Why Dad, you sound as if you are the father of this girl and are disappointed that she is flipping afoul of the rules. Actually I had pasted a portion of the rules, which was in bullet form - I suppose the author is a fag also, eh? Learn the rules, my son, and realize that this throw is illegal and unecessary. Good day.

@chaps632. At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower:
• faces the field of play
• has part of each foot either on the touch line or on the ground
outside the touch line
• holds the ball with both hands
• delivers the ball from behind and over his head
•
The rules indicate that one must FACE the field of play.
Feet must be ...ON THE GROUND.
Ball must be held with both HANDS, not aided by a foreign body: as the ground for momentum.

like a boss
This doesnt help the team one bit, yes its cool but people saying its valid as it helps the team is incorrect, If it helped them compared to a normal throw in then why wouldnt professionals do this

@VideoFletcher Professionals don't do it because they can throw it far enough without the flip, and they often use a quick throw. Kids at this age cannot use a quick throw. They need to get the ball closer to the goal. The world record for a throw in is on a flip at a little over 168 feet. (51.33 meters). Don't tell me it's not useful! Ask a college coach who they would recruit out of two kids who have the same exact skill level on the field, and one has a flip throw in.

@GreenwayDesjarlais, yes it was in her half, but she was 9, it was her first season using it and the coach did not quite know what to do with it. She now plays U12, and it is used more wisely. I did not teach her to do this, she just tried it after seeing it on youtube, and because she was a gymnast it came naturally to her. She has gotten better at it, and has more power behind it. I coached her this year, and used it sparingly.

my thought with the flip-trow is...how can you see what's going on with your teammates and the defense, if your head is literally upside-down and for a good portion of the flip, pointed in the wrong direction? Seeing what's going on is important. She's coordinated...that's good. But, what is the purpose of the flip-throw?
MaddenManification 1 week ago
@MaddenManification this is not used for all throw-ins, and it does have a purpose. It is only used in the final third of the attacking field, like a corner kick to get close to the goal. The field players know the general vicinity where it will land and they are there. She does not need to see the field. It is only used a few times in at game at the U12 level.

LOL... should you be breeding this sort of arrogance into a 9 year old girl?
frankmat 1 week ago
@frankmat not arrogance at all...It is a skill, just like a scissor or stepover when dribbling. Is it necessary? No...Will it help the team? Yes!
