A vastly amazing DX11(Tesselation) demo showcasing the awesome power of Tesselation available through DX11...the area is claimed to use 80GB of RAM

  • @tutaberi100 Next gen consoles need to stack.

    1 cpu, 1 gpu... then stack on 1 cpu 1 gpu or 1 cpu 2 gpu's..

this will future proof them... the original cpu gpu would become a coprocessor gpgpu, thus GPGPU would need to be a big consideration for the base level..

Would need high bandwidth connect, low latency connect and IO.

It would also break up the costs as cost per purchase, and that is a big factor.

I wonder if a 360/ps3 could be used for kinect/move and connect to the next gen.

  • How long before there are cpu assets on the gpu?

Why not run all graphics, physic and sound on the other side of the pci express?

  • Half life 2 episode 3!!!!

  • If I pretend this is a space-trading sim after a seamless transition to the planets surface, it almost could be X4. Which would be awesome.

  • why not make a demo with a real city so we can compare it to real life?

  • No, p3ngwin. Most frames rendered in games have little to no physics involved. That's a trade off each programmer makes depending on the requirements at hand. The video shows the GPU, not CPU, dedicated to graphics. The GPU most certainly CAN work without the CPU processing display lists. That's what much of that memory on a graphics card is for, after all -- storing the geometry of the models so that it doesn't have to be passed over the PCI bus every frame.

  • am i supposed to not hear the sound unless i kick up my volume to -20db?

  • @tutaberi100

physx processors? physics is now on the CPU and/or GPU. the game logic means that you won't get the GPU dedicated to graphics like this. GPU is good for more than graphics

this video shows the CPU dedicated to graphics (GPU can not work without the CPU processing at least the graphics lists). & what an entire system can do when it's not running a game.

add sound, player input, A.I. the rest of the game, and the graphics capability decreases a LOT.

  • @p3ngwin and There are also CPUs, Sound cards, physcx processors for these tasks. Graphics processing unit should be mainly focused on graphics performance and not sound or game logic.

  • @tutaberi100

that would be fine, if only games could do without game-logic, sound, physics, player-input, etc.
