RPGMaker VX Part 13 - The Grand Finale (1/3)

Remember when I said that wasn't the end of the battle? Well it's time for the last part of the battle... the Dragon Lord's terrifying true form - a dragon named Dragovian Lord.

Dragovian Lord is the absolute hardest optional boss of them all. The fourth trial was NOTHING compared to this guy. First of all, he moves twice every round and can use Psych Up - sometimes he'll use it twice in a row. If he uses Psych Up twice in the same round, he gets to move THREE TIMES INSTEAD!

But that's not the worst part - oh no. Dragovian Lord uses the same Scorch move as Mildrath's second form, Disruptive Wave, has a move where his eyes flash that puts you to sleep and can't be guarded against, and worst of all, what he will ALWAYS do if he Psych Ups twice. Dragovian Lord uses a move called Magic Burst where he releases all his magic power at once to inflict 2000 damage to your entire party! So whenever you see him Psych Up twice, Bennett HAS to use Recover II on the next turn unless you want to die! It costs all his MP to use, but after using Magic Burst, he starts praying to restore his MP so he can do it again later!

He also has a buttload of HP. To add to it, his Defense is high and he resists ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING except Ice! This battle is really long, so I have to seperate it in to 3 parts.

@slamdriver A good deal has changed since I made this vid (mainly the fact that I had to start over... oi) but I may end up making the project more about the relationship between humans and monsters while also attempting to keep my original basic plot idea. At the moment, there's about seven monsters you can recruit as party members, but I may add more.

The ironic thing about Symphony of the Night (the game the line originated from) is that Dracula doesn't actually do anything. It's hard to tell, but close examination reveals his CHAIR transformed and Dracula himself is just kind of sitting there in the middle.

It was pretty hard deciding what music to use for the Dragon Lord's second form. I could have used the music from the first Dragon Warrior/Quest and its remakes, but I didn't care too much for it. I forget exactly why I chose Super Dimentio's theme.
