Violet the raccoon...RIP 5/20/08

Good god, you all are being extremely hateful towards someone who did the best she thought for this raccoon. Yes its sad the raccoon had to be subjected to an insufficient lifestyle in the home of humans and sure it could have been dealt with better, but calling he/she a murderer? It's not like they ran over the baby raccoon or something when they saw it. You're all being arrogant and just plain mean.

One of my friends rescued an abandoned coon and he was kind like a dog and cat mixed together with the way he acted. He also had a thing for high heels. If he saw them, he'd run over to whup up on 'em but if you knelt down so your skirt hid them, he'd run all around trying to find them. He was hilarious! That coon lived to a ripe old age and was huge! Sweetest guy around though. Never bothered anybody.

You have raised this raccoon to put her to sleep? What were u retarded (parents & vet) thinking? SERIOUSLY? There was a million options B4 killing her! Violet was YOUR RESPONSIBILITY & did not "have to be put to sleep" u guys killed her because u were too lazy to move ur fat asses to a rehab center. Period.

WORSE, ur vet should have REFUSED to kill her & should have helped u find a solution but I guess he/she was more focused on their bank account , right?

despite the fact there was no ill intent, It's the worst thing in the world to just pick up some baby animal from the wild and try to raise it. it will never work. It takes a lot of special knowledge.

and euthanizing is only meant as a last resort, if its in severe pain or dying. this animal could have been released or at least brought to a rehab center

No bad intentions were made here. Coons need full time attention throughout thier lives otherwise they go wild in the home. Very sad but at least it was not left to die and had a life.

Raccoons are like having a fulltime 2 to 3 yr old, if you can plan on giving lots of attention, adjusting your lifestyle, they can make good pets. pfff, strike that, they can be great friends. If you find one when its young, and I state find, not go searching for, you may have just received a blessing!

I heard that raccoons can be hard to raise. You did the best you could; it would have died a lot sooner & in a far worse way had you left it on the road. It seemed happy while it lasted but I guess it's wild nature took over.

I used to trap and kill raccoons on my property but after watching these videos i started putting them in a box after i trap them and bring them 5 miles down the road from my property and release them
