Republicans are in panic. Panic over the nomination of Eric Holder as potential Attorney General. Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama questioned Holder's fitness to be attorney general. Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa said he wanted to delve into Holder's career in private practice. Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma threatened to prevent a vote, though Senator Kyl of Arizona said he did not want a filibuster.
--- Let me give you a Second Opinion and step back for a moment. Many of you may remember that I expressed hope that Barack Obama include law suit fixing in his promise of change.
That is the payment of money to congressmen and senators to call judges ex parte to intimidate them to obstruct justice and rule in favor of the payor. That hope faded somewhat when Hillary Clinton, a known quicker fixer upper joined the team.
Her cabinet has the full alphabet of skeletons, from American Express to Ziff Brothers Investment.
By now, I wonder whether cleaning house is Mission Impossible V. --- Yet, the Republicans panic aroused my suspicion.
--- I could not fathom why anybody had doubts concerning the qualification of Eric Holder. After graduating, Holder joined the Department of justice, where he assisted in the prosecution of John Jenrette in connection with the Abscam case. He was appointed a judge as the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He was the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia by Bill Clinton and oversaw the prosecution of Dan Rostenkowski. In 1997 he was nominated by Bill Clinton as Deputy AG under Janet Reno and was confirmed by a unanimous Senate Vote.
--- Not qualified? Come on! I have a much better explanation: Panic that Holder actually WOULD clean house and prosecute elected officials who take money to act under color of office for the payor, a current epidemic.
A quick survey confirmed that each and every one of the Senators blabbering against Holder has something to hide. Here are only a couple of examples.
--- Maybe these guys know more and their fear is justified. Is there hope at the end of the day?
Hollywood alive and kicking... I think the energy prices will rise in March 2009, by mid Feb 2009 we'll see the indicators, then the shit will really hit the fan. Because it will instantly ripple and the inflation will start to kick in on the global economy. Energy & food up + jobs & income down = civil uprising within 1 year in most weak countries. There will be no soft landing. US&EU/NATO will get an UN mandate for Africa next year.... wanna bet?
