  • @bazeye I obviously meant the technology. I wouldn't mind seeing a motion captured version of death in the seventh seal for example. Sharper image and sound quality wouldn't be that bad either. Many filmmakers today make crappy movies with huge budgets. The worst thing of all is that people buy these superhero movies. People don't want good movies anymore, they perfer movies with bad dialouge and plot but nice special effects. Only thing holywood does well is special effects, NOTHING else...

  • @Hermoor ............."anyone with a handled video camera and some free time could make a bergman film today.".........Thats a massive insult to Bergman and more proof that you don't understand Bergman or any of his work..............as i said before Bergman was concerned with the human condition and you don't need CGI or special effects to get over the nature of being !

  • @bazeye Movies today have big budgets but are poorly made. It's like putting tons of butter on a thin slice of bread. Bergman had a big slice of bread but little butter. That is how I see it, anyone with a handled video camera and some free time could make a bergman film today.

  • @Hermoor ......Thats a totally bizarre statement, you obviously don't have a clue where Bergmann was coming from, it's like saying "wouldn't it have been amazing if Jimi Hendrix had played the xylophone".

  • If only Bergman had all the CGI and special effects that exist today to be used in his films. Imagine giving Bergman a big budget to make a movie. Pirates of the carribean, Lord of the rings, Star Wars directed by Bergman. I want to watch a movie like that :(
