Back in 2003, Microsoft announced the production of their newest Train Simulator game in the Train Simulator Series. However, in 2004, it got cancelled. This made a lot of Train Simulator 1 lovers (like me at the time) VERY disappointed. Luckily, Microsoft said last year that they will bring Train Simulator 2 back with all new features that the 2004 version would've never had. Some of the trains you see here will or will not make it into the new MSTS 2, so don't get your hopes up too high.

I did my VERY best to get as many pictures as possible to make this video. The songs are "Pennsylvania 6-5000" by the Glenn Miller Orchestra and "Ticket to Ride" by The Beatles. Enjoy!;)

UPDATE: I found more pictures of the original Train Simulator 2!=D I hope you enjoy this new version just as much as the first one!

  • i loooooooooooooooooove it!

  • so there will be no MSTS 2? :(

  • It just isn't a rail simulator unless it's MSTS.

  • its msts2002

  • The most recent MSTS2 that microsoft were working on has been cancelled. They are no longer making the game because of COSTS. I was looking forwarded to it. Well i guess they will continue if we can make a petion and raise money.

  • As i have understood the first MSTS 2 was cancelled because of some desputes between microsoft and kuju. So kuju went out of the whole deal and created their own train sim. This resulted in that microsoft could not reuse anything from the first MSTS2 because of legal issues. However the second MSTS 2 is all microsoft so if that's cancelled, it can be dug up and continued on whenever they want.

  • No. But if you purchased a original game, u can download some from official website and also can purchase additional trains etc.

  • I was really looking forward to it too.

If only the route editor wasn't such a pain in the ass to use, I wanted to do some routes myself, modeled after old/abandoned railroads mostly.

  • are all the train in the game when u buy it?
