Women in open technology and culture worldwide - Valerie Aurora,Mary Gardiner

Last year at LCA 2011, Mary Gardiner asked for a show of hands in response to the question "who has heard that women are underrepresented in open source?" Unsurprisingly, almost everybody had. But many people's knowledge stops there, particularly when it comes to attempts to change this. It can feel like nothing is changing, that there's a lot of talk and no action.
