UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2011:
Hori has fixed the ghosting issue with the Analog stick(s) in their NEWEST batch of these controllers. You can identfy that the controller is part of the NEWEST batch by reading the indented batch date code # on the back of the packaging box.
Back in late Summer 2011 Amazon.com temporarily took the HORI Turbo Pad EX 2 out of availability giving a generic statement that there was something wrong with the product. This was most likely a result of the "Ghosting" issue plaguing these controllers ever since they were originally released in 2009. A few weeks later they had them back in stock so we decided to contact HORI and see if they fixed the Ghosting issue.
CONFIRMATION:
We ordered a NEW Hori Turbo Pad EX 2 (Black) from amazon.com in September 2011 and the packaging had the NEWEST batch code # of 110601 stamped on the back as indicated by HORI. After having used the controller in various games we have had NO issues of ghosting with the Analog sticks. We'll make sure to keep everyone updated on this contorller but it appears everything is working as it should with the NEWEST batch.

PHT's original Thoughts / Review (2009):
1. Now that we have one of these in hand, we can say they are the best 3rd party controller we've had in a long time. Definitely a good Turbo controller, even better than the Logitech pad for the original Xbox, which featured a similar ability to program almost everything as well as macros.
2. Unlike other 3rd party and homebrew modded / turbo / rapidfire controllers, this works on all the necessary parts of the controller you would use in a game.
3. This controller is a little bit bigger (about 1" longer at the bottom where the controller sits in your palms), which helps you grip the controller better than the OEM Xbox 360 controller from Microsoft. It can however take a little bit getting use to, but they eventually subsides. One thing to note is that you might find yourself pressing the left/right bumper face buttons why trying to go for the "Y" or "B" buttons. As with the feel for the controller, you can eventually get the hang of not hitting the bumpers accidentally.
4. The analog sensitivity settings didn't seem to do much in game, at least for Modern Warfare 2, which already has adjustable sensitivy settings built into the game. This may prove useful in a game that does NOT have such a feature.
5. The directional pad (D-PAD) feels a lot more repsonsive and easier to use than the one for the OEM Xbox 360 controller by Microsoft.
6. For under $40 with the ability to program all the necessary parts of the controller, a better D-PAD, and an extended grip; it definitely beats out the original Turbo Pad by Hori, the Mad Catz SFIV controllers, the MadCatz Gameshark, and several of the homebrew modded controllers!
7. PLEASE NOTE: this controller is NOT compatible with the OEM Xbox 360 Chatpad (texting / keyboard).
8. This controller is compatible with 3rd party gaming headsets such as those from Turtle Beach. We have the x41 and it works great with the HORI Turbo Pad EX 2. We can hear everyone and they can hear us.
