6233 Duchess of Sutherland storms through Lancaster with the Royal Scot 10 October 2009

LMS Coronation Class 6233 Duchess of Sutherland storms through Lancaster station with the Royal Scot on Saturday 10 October 2009. Clocked at 71.2 mph, I have uploaded the footage twice with the second at half speed.

This footage was shot by my neighbour Gerry Ward as I was on board having one fantastic day out on what was an awesome performance from this magnificent loco.

My mother was thrilled to bits to see this, Bob. She couldn't believe the speed at which we went through and managed to actually see me waving. She's talked about nothing else since - bless her - Frank.

Thanks very much. My neighbour took my elderly mother to the station to see us go by. He's 80 years old himself and this was the first time he has ever taken a video. I'll pass on your comments - Frank.

Thanks, Steve. But I can't take the credit. I still haven't seen the Duchess wizz by - but at least I was on it. You can see me waving a red scarf for my mum to see me from the 6th coach - Frank.
