Umm, why narrow your options down to Krank and Randall? Have you checked out ENGL, their amps kill both those brands you mentioned. Or even check out Peavey, the 6505 is also awesome.

I understand your logic, but it seems kinda stupid to be making a decision based on what guys like Amott use. They endorse the Brand, and they get payed a lot to do so. Plus studio recordings can be really deceiving.

You should play through as many amps as you can and let your ears decide.

just try them for yourself innit. I've played a randall v2 and i've played a krankenstein and the randall was better. Though the krank sounded really shit and crackley like there was way too much treble all the time. Some guy up there said get a mesa and I totally agree. You can get the best sounds you could ever want out of a dual rectifier or a roadster or something.

Dude, just buy a Mesa Boogie and you can have all the tone you could ever want. They are known for being the heaviest sound out there, especially for lowered tunings.

dude, why don´t you buy a distortus maximus and plug it to the rm100 fxloop? that pedal is meant to give that krank dist into a tube amp (and believe me, THEY DO!).

oh hey if I had to pick one though it'd be Randall. They've got a wide selection of tube, solid state and pretty much everything in between and outside. Krank doesn't have much selection but the ones they do have out are great. My fav cab of all time is obviously the krakenstein cab, even if I switched between many heads I'd most likely always stick with a krankenstein cab
