18th September, 2008. We hired a bus and headed down to Mt Druitt campus of Chifley College (formerly Mt Druitt High School), a handful of teachers from each school in the Fairfield District, in support of the local strike by teachers at Chifley (named after a past Australian Labor leader who LISTENED) over the blocked transfer of an eligible colleague. There will be more the next time. This is the mess presided over by Michael Coutts-Trotter, who only recently obtained his current posting as NSW Director-General of Education using the same transfer system he is now seeking to destroy.

This is Channel 10 Sydney's coverage of the event from their 5pm bulletin.

To the mother at 1:10 - if you think it's inconvenient not knowing if your child has all the teachers she needs for one morning at the moment, consider the cost of letting us fail on this issue...depending on which school location you are a part of, of course...
