The Top 10 WORST Beers of 2011

If you saw my Top 10 BEST Beers of 2011 you know that this has been a good year for me as far as my experience with beer. In fact, the beers that made this year's "worst of" list aren't nearly as bad as some I reviewed in 2009 and 2010. Most of them aren't so much bad as they are tolerable, although the #1 worst beer is the absolute WORST beer I've ever had IN MY LIFE!! Yuck!

Beginning in 2012 I'm making a conscience effort to cut back on the number of beers I review. Also, I'm going to avoid as many "ho hum" and "trash" beers as much as possible. So there's a chance there may not be a "worst of" list for 2012, but that remains to be seen.

In order for a beer to qualify for this list it had to have been a beer I reviewed for the first time ever in calendar year 2011. For a better explanation of why these products are so bad, please watch the individual reviews, as these clips are only meant to be overly succinct re-caps.

Speaking of Mendocino, I have not enjoyed one single beer from them. One of their beers (I believe it was the white) was easily one of the worst I have ever tasted in my entire life. Looking back, it might have gone bad but still it was terrible.

@815Sox yeah, their east coast brewery is only 30 minutes north of me in Saratoga. The Mendocino brand beers I find suck across the board. But some of the beers they contract brew (i.e. Coney Island and Keegan Ales) are actually pretty good. Ironic. From what I understand they pasteurize the hell out of everything.

@stjepko357 I did. #3 was a European beer. There were a few other canned European lagers that were pretty bad that didn't make the list.

Bud light lime is my go to nasty beer. It pretty much all lime, so it goes well with a shot or two of vodka.......A very guilty pleasure for me when I have nothing else to drink and desire to get drunk :P

Magic Hat Howl is pretty freakin horrible--it actually tastes like someone grinded up dirt in liquid form. I thought I was going to swallow earthworms when I sipped it!

My friend and I had bought a six-pack of the stuff and had to switch to Scotch (LOTS of Scotch) in order for the Magic Hat to be tolerable.

Seriously though, the entire Magic Hat brand is a disgrace to beer.

on a side note, yes the american beer palate is laughable. I personally have not had a miller lite or bud lite in years, i think its piss water, pure shit

@jumar1281 Plus I have had plenty of Aussies tell me that they never touch Fosters and that they do not consider it a real Aussie beer. They would always joke "Why do you think we export that stuff to you dumb yanks".

Yes, the world laughs/laughed at the American Beer Palate, with good reason, but we are finally catching up.

@jumar1281 Fosters is terrible stuff, including the dark. Not trying to be a dick or anything like that. If you want a lager their are plenty of better options. Hell, I am sure you have a regional brewery (something like Linenkugels) that makes an okay lager.

For whatever reason, I had a Fosters 25 ouncer a few days ago. All of my good beer wasn't cold and the gas-station was sold out of the .89 cent PBR pints. Fosters is just not very good and seems to be full of adjuncts and other stuff.
