  • @ludwigvan17 This is one of the greatest pieces of all time, written COMPLETELY by a man who was stone deaf and Hollywood just HAD to add some shitty story over it with some slamming blonde chick who, not only helped him conduct it, but also made changes to the music.

If there is anything wrong with the United States of America, this is it. It's not our greed, or arrogance or multiple wars, it's this stupid Hollywood glam shit that finds it's way into every crevice of life.

  • love this scene, hate the girl's conducting... she does the same thing throughout the entire movement!

  • I didn't like the movie all that much, but I'll forgive it because of this bit giving an idea of what it was like to be there are the premiere. And the moment at the end (I won't spoil it) brings a tear to my eye every time.

  • I simply can't witch this often enough!

Let's face it, Beethoven was thre GREATEST composer who EVER WALKED THIS PLANET!

At his funeral, the final words were "There he stands among the giants of all times, untouchable forever." I foolishly agree, unconditionally!

  • @ludwigvan17 Gary Oldman made a pretty awesome Beethoven in Immortal Beloved. To be fair to Hollywood producers, they cater for an audience. But I guess one can see this as a chicken & egg paradox.

  • The music on it's own is glorious, but the illusion of us attending the premiere of the 9th symphony makes it epic! Beethoven himself being in heavenly ecstasy, it moves me to tears.

The premiere of the 9th was truly the greatest moment in classical/romantic music. There will never one like that again and no amount of money can buy you a seat there!

    Inore the woman.

  • @ludwigvan17 why are you so upset about it. i find this to be a fantastic tribute to ludwig van beethoven and don't see why the girl is a problem. she only changes things that beethoven himself would intend to change. and considering the shit that comes out of hollywood's asshole today like transformers, this is a fine piece of work on their part. plus the girl is absolutely gorgeous, not like some fake-ass megan fox. all in all, quit bitching.

  • I don't like the role of the copyist in the movie, but I think that Beethoven himself was played well. Regarding this particular part, it's actually recorded that Beethoven played air instruments, sang with the chorus and went head-banging during the premiere, but that's OK for a deaf composer who is conducting the first performance of IMO the greatest piece of orchestral music ever. BTW, when I'm a bit tipsy while hearing the 9th and 3rd, I'm doing the same :-D

  • 2:13 LOOOL :D

  • Respond to this video... Did you know they have the fucking Disney channel in the Philippines now? What happened to culture?

  • @ludwigvan17 Simple words of a wiseman if you ask me. Completely true, and completely agree. I am Canadian, and you know what I don't really care about looking bad or arrogant in this case. I don't hate on America, far from it in fact. But you're right. Hollywood is just... destroying the fucking world.

  • @priswaa Yeah I'm gonna have to agree about that. I mean this movie was pretty bad, but it did introduce me to Beethoven.
