It has an interesting history. The original libretto was in English, but Haydn used a German translation to score the work. Just like the Oxford and other modern editions, the first publishing had both the German text Haydn used an a metrical English translation. However, the translator of the German didn't speak English very well, and that's why the translation has a lot of awkward moments.

English translation: And the bass trombone? Was it too strong with cello and bassoon? I personally thought that it was a nice complement, especially with the choir's sound (though the pronunciation of the chorus needs work, haha)

@MrTenorstar und die Baßposaune? war es zu stark mit Cello und Fagott? Ich persönlich dachte, daß es eine schöne Ergänzung, vor allem mit dem Chor Sound ist (obwohl die Aussprache des Chores Arbeit benötigt, haha)

They are not able to pronounce the German words correctly.

@USMC8080 amen, thats why god made the bass trombone...viva el trombon bajo!!

by chance, do you know who the bass trombonist is? This is one of the most difficult excerpts asked in an orchestral audition and the bass trombonist plays it very well in this live performance. Great blend with the bassoon and 'cello as well.
