@mathsprofessional well, its been some time since I've been reading about physics so I can't really argue here. I'm just basically saying its impossible to travel faster than the speed of light, as far as I know.

@nj4ck Lol, if going faster than the speed of light is possible (going at the speed of light basically means the stoppage of time), then time travelling back to the past is possible then right? but what about the future? Do we use Bose-Einstein condensate to o that for us? We might have to rely on Quantum theories for that. But going beyond the speed of light, I'm not sure about what you mean they vanish simply.

The narrator in the second half of this, is a very noted Janes Defense Magazine writer. Look him up... He's spent a lot of time looking at this Aurora Project possibility, and wasn't originally on board with it.

@nj4ck Scramjets use Hydrogen and other oxidized, combustible chemicals. Though, nuclear fueld might be used as a secondary source of exotic fuel in the future to travel at speeds of light.

they never actually built it, the blackbird was a spin off of the program. the fasted we can go in the atmosphere is about mach 6 that's when the plane starts to melt. the x-15 is the only "airplane" (used loosely as it's rocket propelled) that can hit that speed without having to leave orbit.
