  • @scipio2009 You're answering 6 months later?

If a woman is killed because she was denied the right to own a gun how was she given an opportunity to pursue as full a life as her talents can offer her? By the way, women and minorities benefit most by being able to legally own a gun.

Last year San Francisco had a ballot initiative that would have banned circumcision for babies. CA told SF state law trumps SF & it was removed. I stand by my statement that liberals micromanage everything.

  • @Onepersonsopinion Give every individual the opportunity to pursue their "happiness", however that arises, while ensuring that there is a safety net for all, providing a base level of existence for all.

  • @Onepersonsopinion I think your response was a bit disingenuous. To argue that Democrats want to "micromanage everything", in my opinion, is a deep disservice to the actual conversation. Democrats believe, speaking for myself, that every citizen, regardless of the condition they are born into, ought to have the opportunity to pursue as full a life as their talents can offer them, while also providing for the basic common well-being for all citizens.

  • (con't) party, has given me NO REASON to trust them, and I doubt that they ever will. I don't care if you got some black folk, or even some (and I do mean some) LGBT people in the camp. I DON'T TRUST YOU...PERIOD!!!!!!!

  • (con 't ) THEN (this is the part that kills me), they make the excuse of "We need to get government out of the picture, and give people their freedom back." Like, they are so anti-government or something...PLEASE. This PRESENT DAY Republican

  • (Con't) When I look at the PRESENT DAY Republican/GOP/Tea Party Organization, I do not see people who are trying to better this country, at least not for all of us, I see an organization that is merely focused on putting more money in their pockets, and leaving everyone else to fend for themselves with little to NO resources.

  • This is what it all boils down to. Republicans try to use the past to somehow pave a path for the future. While it is that the Republican Party of yore was responsible for some of this country's most historical pieces of legislature, and has quite an impressive list of representatives, the FACT REMAINS that we are NOT in those days anymore, and in case anyone hadn't noticed, THE GAME HAS TOTALLY CHANGED!!!!!

  • @cavetrollism What even funnier is that you couldn't refute ANY of the arguments I laid out either about the ridiculousness of the "originalist" view of the constitution or the reason why black people avoid the GOP like the plague.

Now you're talking about "localism," (aka "state rights" in old southern conservative talk). Yet another failed argument.

Dropping in latin words to sound smart over the internet isn't helping you either.

  • @sgtpepper2345 Funny how you can get over 500 elected people to all do something unconstitutional. I just don't understand how it could be.

If all you got is the 14th and the warren court you will never understand what a republic is or a repubican form of localism is and you will never be free. I dont feel sorry for you ether, its me that suffers. Your words are duck soup and you are older than me. Quod erat demonstrandum...

  • @cavetrollism Only a bigoted white conservative would come to that unsurprising conclusion. We black folks want a pro-black constitution? LOL.

That's what you come with here? If the constitution was purely a matter of popular opinion, it sure wouldn't have looked the way it is now. The 14th amendment was clearly thrusted upon a deeply racist nation at the time (same with the so-called liberal scotus decisions of the Warren era). You cons are still fighting these amendments today!
