Nancy Today: How to line and use a wooden soap mold, Erin's gift

I tried making a corrugated plastic liner, but then the lid doesn't fit properly. It worked, though! thank you Erin, dear!

i like to use laminating plastic. i have a hot laminator, run the sheets through and use the plastic to line the moulds with ....works a treat.

So you put pieces of paper in the laminator, or just the plastic sheets? Interesting idea.

I think Erin's mold is great -- can't wait to see the finished product! And I think the mold you made yourself is pretty spiffy, too!

just the plastic sheet goes thru the laminator....with some mineral oil when lined

just cook it on low in the crock pot for a long time and the scent will flash away. Or add manly scents to go with the bad fragrance and it may be good. I did that with some burned lard. turned out to be a quick seller!

That's what happened to me last night - I tried to rebatch a sugar cookie scented soap I made awhile back. It turned dark brown so my plan was to rebatch it and add chocolate fragrance, but it didn't stick! Now it smells horrible. I think I'm going to throw it out!

That is a really good idea for a liner! Using freezer paper is a big pain in the butt.
