This is why I love you tube, I've been a fan of both of these geniuses for 40 years and I have never heard this before! Thanks for the post!

This is simply one of the greatest and most intensly inspired moments I've heard with Fats Waller allthough they are many... Didn't know this existed. Thanks!

@broadwood1830 So ein arroganter Schnösel!!! Kann nix und wagt es goodfahter of Jazz zu kritisieren.

@broadwood1830 Next time the BBC contacts you asking you to share your thoughts on the history of pianism based solely on the knowledge displayed on your youtube comments and performances call me. Until then please shut up and let your playing do the talking. Preferably in real concert attire next time. Arrogant prick.

@brianCIM Sorry but we cannot forgive your impertinence words. These both pianists are much mor better than your experiments to try to play Chopin. We think Alkan and Fast Wller became good friends If they knew each other. Most of todays universitary pianists are people without impression and real knowing how to play

It is night time where I am. Am I dreaming or did I really just hear this? If I'm dreaming, I want to stay asleep forever to hear this again.

Actually, they did several recordings together in 1929 with James P. orchestra. But this one is really rare and is from a radio broadcast. I don't think many others are existing...
