probably a close ratio for the initial 2-3 gears then a longer overdrive, torque also plays an important role too.

  • everyone is overlooking there is a full second difference in 1/4 mile times... if you think that GTP was keeping up I think you need to go back and check how big of a difference a full second is and appreciate how the angle of a camera can make two object seem close together

  • They might have changed the just changed the holden monaro a lil but it was produced by GM Holden Ltd, an Australian subsidiary of General Motors, between 1968 and 1977 and between 2001 and 2005. Witch gives them a right to do it, they didnt take another idea that wasnt already GM.

  • i have a bonneville ssei

  • @crystalscan2002 what? the GTO has 155 more HP stock and a better layout (RWD 6 speed vs FWD 4 speed automatic).how the hell should the GTP have won?

  • two amazing Pontiacs!!! LOVE IT!!!!!

  • what happened in the gto? grand prixs are tough but not that tough.

  • GTp should win

  • @Mechknight73

i love information like that. thanks for sharing!

  • @idontknow5858 It still amazes me just how lax GM was about using more advanced technology on family sedans, and even luxury cars. Compare the 1991 Chevy Caprice and the 1991 Holden Caprice. Chevy: 175hp 5 litre V8, front disc/rear drum, standard 5 link axle. Holden: 4 wheel discs, independent rear end, 230hp 5 litre V8, running a 15 second quarter mile stock. The AWD Holden Special Vehicles GTO is very rare, as it was only on a model run of two years.
