  • id brown the beef first

  • Yes, good point. Ussually I do but, I tried it different this time and it worked out well. Browning first adds flavor but, it seemed to keep the meat more tender this way.

    Thanks for your input.

  • Thank you for sharing the recipe , it looks delicious.

  • I ate a lot of soup this week. Now I want a steak.

  • I love borscht type soups. Going to have to try this out for sure. Thanks for showing it!

  • I didn't realize this was a Russian soup. I also eat it hot or cold but, don't make too much because the carrots go soft after four days and potatos don't freeze well.

  • Good stuff man. I know what I'm eating tomorrow

  • This is one of the few without Cayenne. I do put a little horseradish in my bowl.

  • what no cayenne pepper? Looks good!

  • This is a really satisfying soup if made right.Think about it, meat, potato and onion with sour cream in a beef stock. Yea, the carrots and greens are bonus. I like it with plenty of sour cream to give it a tang.

I'll even eat this cold for lunch tomorrow.
