Mark Williams designed and built his own electric violin at the Boston Fab Lab. Mark has been a participant in the Learn 2 Teach, Teach 2 Learn program at the South End Technology Center, where he served this summer as a college mentor while working on this project.

  • Criticizing is easy. Making things is hard.

  • This video was made with a cheap piezo pickup on the violin, going into a cheap 8" speaker amplifier, with a huge amount of background noise and a digital camera mic picking up the audio. Once I get some real pickups on it, and play it through my acoustic amp, and record it with a nice condensor, it will sound much, much better.
