  • They're releasing their 8th studio record, this song was off their first. You have to realize they have to stop playing old songs to make room for the new ones. Plus, it's a totally different band, not physically..but musically. They're so much more mature now.

  • everything in thrice in simply amazing from the first impressions to alchemy index

  • If people go to a Thrice concert just knowing a few songs, they wont have the best time. To truly have the best time of your life you have to listen to all their albums, all their songs. Because they're all amazing and different and if you do that and go see them you fall in love.

  • This is definitely a day I'll never forget. Got to hang out with them and friends all day while doing the benefit walk and got to witness this in person afterwards. I remember they played like 30+ songs and had to take a brief intermission inbetween because it was such a long set. Can't believe it was almost 8 years ago!

  • @Lostinspace138 they still play to awake and avenge the dead.

  • I understand the concept of progression and having to stop playing older songs; but the opening line of this song still has merit for them even now. Anything you create will never be as good as the idea of it. Sure, it was written during a time of adolescence and disillusionment, but the lyrics hold true for them even now. It's a great song that should not have gotten retired. Deadbolt, probably.

  • @bustanube thanks man... i dont mean to piss people off but dude their newer material doesnt do it for me.. i miss their older style... i only wished they played more of their older material.. but their at spot in their career when they want to experiment more than anything.

  • @Lostinspace138 dude you are spot on!!! Preach it revrend

  • @OMFGallusernamesgone Separate punk MUSIC, from punk culture. They are two very different things. You need to revisit what passionate means. Besides you are actually proving my point, since in my opinion Vheissu is their best album so far. You seem to think that just because a song is in a slower pace it takes away the passion. This is hardly true, dig deep enough you'll understand why. Are you honestly saying that you don't hear the immense passion in Dustin's voice as he cries "Oh gods!"?

  • @johnnyoak I was trying to say that country music makes many cringe b/c it conveys a lifestyle. As does punk, its more than powerchords, its a mindset. I love new thrice, except beggars.

Daedalus is NOT passionate compared to their old stuff. Maybe you meant Like moths to a flame? THAT was a passionate song. I don't know... listen to To Awake and Avenge the Dead and then All the World is Mad or even Daedalus and tell me which one has more passion in it...
