Martin Edwards runs the first ever commercial wind farm in the UK at Delabole in north Cornwall, and he explains the need for renewables and the repowering of the site.

Fan-tas-tic, way to go Delabole, leaders to the world in courage, forthought and eco thinking.
Cornwall is lucky your family came to live there. Wish all incomers were as enlightened. One for all and all for one :-)

I understand how and why some people can find these ugly, though I find them beautifil - they look like kinetic art to me. And I don't find the industrial-looking nuclear plants, with their curved cooling towers and big fences with barbed wire, pretty. Most turbines don't have fences, and many have the lower parts of the towers painted green to help them blend into the scenery at eye level at close ranges.

Congrats, way to trash your countryside. Too bad, the UK was so pretty too.
