  • Go Aya!!!! I honor you for bringing attention to the Stone's incompetence, the realities of mamahood, and the under appreciation for female artists. How dare they forget Nina!!!!

  • LOVE IT! As a woman in music, I can speak first hand on the sexism in the industry. It's so pervasive and frustrating.

There's so many amazing female artists out there!!! What were they thinking?? .. yeah fuck Rolling Stone! :)

  • Indigo Girls. June Millington. Big Mama Thorton

  • So true! All the women, the blues, the rock, the pain - ignored. Take another piece of my heart, another piece of me and make all that money while we, the women live the blues...how dare you leave us out! Screw you Rolling Stone & the dick you rode in on.

  • In your FACE!!! LOV HER!!! Who's on your list!

  • Gracias Aya!! Ella and Billy, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Miriam Makeba, Angelique Kidjo, La India, Chiwoniso, Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Sade, Mary J. Blidge. Mahalia Jackson, Mavis Staples, Sade, Susanna Baca, Cesoria Evora....so many many more....

  • Thank you Aya. Shailja posted on Facebook about this. This outrage has crossover appeal in the dance world, where there's a glut of talented women, yet pre-eminence of male choreographers.

  • that's my girl.. go Aya!!

  • Joni Mitchell! Björk! Billie Holliday!
