Fountain of Trevi film is Produced and presented by Alessandro Sorbello http://www.alessandrosorbello.com for New Realm Media http://www.newrealm.com.au
promoting Ciao Darling http://www.ciaodarling.com You will not find any other place in the world that celebrates the ever-mutating and incredible power of water like Rome. The Trevi Fountain is a fantastic work of art that is much more than a mere sculpture. This triumphant example of Baroque art with its soft, natural lines and fantasy creatures embodies movement as the soul of the world. The fountain is a true wonder, a jewel of water and stone that is nestled between the palaces of the historic centre of the city.

You can already hear its presence from the nearby streets. Indeed, as you get nearer the sound of its gushing waters grows constantly more intense, reaching a crescendo in the square, where you will find the most breathtaking sight. Suddenly, the space seems to open out and you stand before a symbolic representation of this great force of nature, a tumultuous spring that seems to flow out of the ground.

This work of art is so famous that even cinema has commemorated it on more than one occasion. Everyone remembers the scene in the renowned Italian film, "La Dolce Vita" by Fellini; on a quiet night in an almost unreal Rome, an alluring Anita Ekberg jumps into the Trevi Fountain with her clothes on and invites Marcello Mastroianni to join her. There is also another curious tradition regarding the Trevi Fountain. It is said that if you throw a coin over your shoulder into the water, you will be sure to return to Rome.

The backdrop for the fountain is the Palazzo Poli, given a new facade with a giant order of Corinthian pilasters that link the two main stories. Taming of the waters is the theme of the gigantic scheme that tumbles forward, mixing water and rockwork, and filling the small square. Tritons guide Oceanus' shell chariot, taming seahorses (hippocamps).

In the center is superimposed a robustly modelled triumphal arch. The center niche or exedra framing Oceanus has free-standing columns for maximal light-and-shade. In the niches flanking Oceanus, Abundance spills water from her urn and Salubrity holds a cup from which a snake drinks. Above, bas reliefs illustrate the Roman origin of the aqueducts.

The tritons and horses provide symmetrical balance, with the maximum contrast in their mood and poses (by 1730, rococo was already in full bloom in France and Germany).

Film in which the Fountain of Trevi has appeared include - A scene in the 1953 comedy Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, and Eddie Albert. Three Coins in the Fountain. (1954) A scene of drenching Anita Ekberg in Federico Fellini's La dolce vita. A fictionalized filming of this scene in C'eravamo tanto amati. Totòtruffa 62 a 1961 Camillo Mastrocinque movie with Totò and Nino Taranto Coins in the Fountain a 1990 remake of the 1954 film starring Loni Anderson. Several scenes in The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Several scenes in Sabrina Goes to Rome. A few scenes in the Chinese series Triumph in the Skies A scene in the 'Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen' Movie When in Rome. A scene in the 2005 film Elsa y Fred where the same scene in La Dolce Vita is remade because of the title character's lifelong wish. Bon Jovi's Thank You For Loving Me music video was filmed there. A scene from the 2003 film Under the Tuscan Sun.
